Brett is the General Manager of local transport and earth-moving business Coastal Tipper Hire and is also involved in land development and recycling. He and his family have supported the Gold Coast racing industry by owning race horses for over 20 years and having them trained locally. His company has been a supporter and sponsor of the Club for over 10 years and in 2009 they became Corporate sponsors.
Brett was elected to the board of the Club in 2007, became Deputy Chairman in 2009 and took over the Chairmanship in 2011.
Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Racing & Training Sub‑Committee
Arch has been an active member of the Club for 15 years and possesses a keen interest in the management and development of the local horse racing industry.
Arch demonstrates a dedicated policy of informing Members of current Club issues.
Arch has an interest in 5 horses currently all based at the Gold Coast.
Treasurer and Chairman of Finance Sub‑Committee
Passionate about horse racing and numbers it’s no surprise that Trent Watson is the Treasurer of the Gold Coast Turf Club.
Learning through distinguished organisations like TSS & Griffith University he continuously strives to achieve and evolve. This mentality is brought to the club and in his business at BOQ Capalaba.
Trent’s key focuses are and have always been on people, service, attitude, customer satisfaction and results!
Chairman of Marketing and Membership Sub‑Committee
Luke is a partner of the highly successful real estate firm Professionals Mermaid Beach. He is a licensed auctioneer and sales agent, horse owner and breeder.
Elected to the Turf Club Board in 2011, Luke brings experience in sales and marketing and negotiation to the Board. Born on the Gold Coast, he has a unique understanding of its people and is driven to ensure the Gold Coast Turf Club remains successful, with its stakeholders the number one priority.
After experiencing the thrill of winning Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, Golden Slipper and Magic Millions 3YO, Luke is passionate about racing and has heavily invested in the sport. Luke enjoys his work on the Board specialising in Marketing and Membership and says he feels privileged to have the opportunity to enhance horse racing on the Gold Coast.
Simon has owned and operated a successful landscaping business for over 20 years. He is passionate about the racing industry and has been an owner for well over a decade.
Simon has also been actively involved in the Queensland Racehorse Owners Association where he has served roles as both Vice President and President.
Jarrad is a Director of Cordner Advisory Accountants, having previously undertaken the role of Senior Manager at Gold Coast KPMG Accountants for the previous 14 years.
Jarrad brings to the board a wealth of professional experience in accountancy and finance. Jarrad is a passionate horse owner and has been a member and involved with horse racing for many years. He has lived on the Gold Coast his entire life and has two children.
Donna is our city’s Deputy Mayor and has been a member of the Club since 2003. A love of horse racing is also in her DNA. One of her earliest family memories was in 1963 when her grandfather’s horse Woolstar won the Adelaide Cup. The excitement Donna recalls still makes her smile today. Her father nominated her for membership of the VRC, Moonee Valley and the then VATC at a very early age and as soon as possible she was a regular racegoer. Despite many visits to those tracks, she says the Gold Coast Turf Club is a standout. It is unique.
Chairman of Hospitality Sub‑Committee
Greg is a proud Queenslander, born and bred in Brisbane and has called the Gold coast home for the past 25 years.
Greg has over 20 years experience in the FMCG industry as both a National and State Sales Manager. Greg worked for Cadbury Schweppes in numerous senior executive roles for over 18 years across both the confectionery and beverage business, and understands the key to success in an extremely competitive consumers market. He brings a wealth of knowledge across Sales & Marketing to a Club that he has had a strong association with for many years.
Married to wife Jane with two boys, Greg loves the Gold Coast and is a passionate horse racing enthusiast.
Greg is committed to driving successful business partnerships with all key stakeholders to ensure a long term sustainable future for the Club.
Peter has been a member of the Club for a number of years and a regular patron. He has owned racehorses in several Australian states and is enthusiastic about the thoroughbred industry.
He moved to QLD as the general manager of Lend Lease (property/construction giant) and currently holds the role of National Head of Construction Grocon.
