Trainer rapt with Tony's top ride

TONY Pattillo picked up the late ride on Solar Heart at the Gold Coast and produced a copybook ride for trainer Mel Eggleston.
Dale Missen was booked to ride Solar Heart in today’s National Mortgage Company C,G&E Class 1 Hcp (1400m) but was indisposed.
Pattillo, who scored earlier on Daad’s Overtime, picked up the ride and followed Eggleston’s instructions to the letter.
“That was a perfect ride on this horse,’’ said Eggleston. “I told Tony he can be a difficult horse to ride and he had to wait on this horse and time his run perfectly. And that’s what he’s done. A top ride.’’
Solar Heart ($8) settled back in the field but sprinted home to down Birds Of Song ($3.40 fav) by 1-1/2 lengths with a neck to Untoward ($16) in third.
