Pattillo bags early double
FORMER Victorian galloper Entirly Noble (pictured) sealed an early double for jockey Tony Pattillo when he led throughout to win today’s Cater Care Maiden Hcp (1200m) at the Gold Coast.
Pattillo deserved his win aboard the Les Kelly-trained mare after dumping the jockey in the enclosure before his previous Gold Coast start on July 12 when seventh in heavy conditions.
Entirly Noble ($6 into $3.60 eq fav) was also a bit of handful prior to today’s race, but once he jumped away he always looked in command and was never headed to score by three-quarters of a length. Mockba ($5) made ground to finish second with Lifting Benny ($3.60 eq fav) 2-3/4 lengths away in third.
Pattillo won the previous race on the Gordon Yorke-trained Seven Fifty ($3.60) in the the STA Maiden Plate (2200m).
Punters again sent the Barry Baldwin-trained Croatian Quality out the $1.70 favourite but he was no match for the winner over the final stages and was beaten 1-1/2 lengths.
Croatian Quality was also beaten as a $1.40 favourite at his previous Gold Coast appearance four starts back in February.
Seven Fifty was having his 22nd start today after coming off fair form at Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast at his recent outings.
