JOCKEY Dan Griffin sealed a race-to-race treble when Jet Style dashed away with today’s Selangor Goodwill Cup Class 4 Hcp (1400m) at the Gold Coast.
Griffin, who recently notched a record sixth straight Gold Coast premiership, looks like dominating again this season.
He was on fire in the first half of today’s eight-race meeting, winning the second race on King Magnusson ($1.50 fav), the third on Pure Reality ($5) and the fourth on Jet Style ($4.80).
Jet Style (pictured), trained in Toowoomba by Don Baker, settled midfield for Griffin but chimed in powerfully in the straight and drew right away for a 2-1/4 length win. Ballina-trained grey Magic Shuffle ($3.20 fav) made ground for second but never threatened the winner while Get Uppity ($17) was the same margin away in third
Jet Style, a six-year-old son of  Tycoon Ruler, has been a model of consistency during his career which has now yielded six wins and 11 placings from 23 starts.
One of Jet Style’s part-owners is country bookmaker Wayne Gannon who has had a long association with the Gold Coast.
“I’ve had quite a few winners here at the Coast over the years, it’s been pretty good to me,’’ he said.
“Real Say was a good horse for us and he won six races in a row, including a couple here.’’
